Project Update: After five months of crowdfunding, we met our goal of $12,500! We want to thank all of the families, friends, alumni, students, faculty and staff members who made donations to create the Chinese Leadership Scholarship. Donations from you and 120 other individuals allowed us to reach goal. Dean Hasan Pirkul of the Jindal School of Management has announced that he will match all of the donations bringing the total to $25,000 — this means we will be able to grant our first $1,000 scholarship to an eligible Chinese student as early as 2016 fall semester!

Our Chinese students always remember the day they first heard about UT Dallas, the day they decided to enroll in a university thousands of miles from home, and the day they stood in their caps and gowns alongside lifelong friends met in and out of the classroom as they earned their degrees from the Naveen Jindal School of Management.

Many also remember worrying about the cost of tuition, books, housing, transportation and other expenses as they adjusted to a new culture. Whether you are a student, parent, alum or friend, we encourage you to join others in making a gift to the first Chinese Leadership Scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $12,500, which when combined with eligible matching funds will create the first university endowment to benefit Jindal School of Management students from China as they pursue their dreams of graduating from UT Dallas. To qualify for the award, students must be enrolled full time and have completed their secondary education in China.
Reaching our goal will ensure that the scholarship can be awarded annually. The principal endowment of the scholarship is invested and never spent. Each year the interest earned on the endowment - on average 5 percent - is available to award a new student scholarship.
