Texas-Sized Christmas

The University of Texas at Dallas Student Government is joining the second annual Texas-Sized Christmas fundraiser, a statewide initiative led by For the Students at the University of Houston. As we return to fully in-person operations, we can’t forget the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on families and students across the state. Many have yet to recover from the loss of jobs and increase in insecurity brought forth by the pandemic. As a result, many will not have the means to provide food for their families during the holiday season. Various universities across Texas are hoping to collectively combat this by launching a variety of grassroots campaigns to raise money for local food banks.

As part of Team Dallas, we are encouraging members of the Dallas and Comet community to donate to the Comet Cupboard, North Texas Food Bank and Minnie’s Food Pantry to help us reach our $4,000 goal.

Registered UT Dallas Students who donate a minimum of $5 will be entered into a giveaway to win either (1st drawing) a UT Dallas blanket or (2nd drawing) a UT Dallas tumbler!

Q&A

Who is leading this initiative at UT Dallas?

UT Dallas Student Government is leading this initiative on campus, in partnership with eight other universities.

Who will my donation go to help?

By donating to any of the three food banks mentioned, your donation will combat food insecurity in the local Dallas community and if given to the Comet Cupboard, the UT Dallas community.

Can I donate physical items?

Physical donations are always needed! Send us a screenshot of your physical donations so we can count them towards our goal. For UT Dallas Students, this will still enter you into the giveaway.
