We would like to give a special shout out to Munoz Flooring Solutions for their $400 contribution! Thank you so much to them and our anonymous donor of $175! Munoz Flooring’s donation put us over $1000, which is not even counting some of our events contributions that should be processed soon.
Our second week has been filled with events, and we want to thank everyone who has attended. Our restaurant events have had good turnouts at Raising Canes and Chili’s. We continue to spread the word as much as we can. We are taking advantage of our social media resources and word of mouth. Legends Express Car Wash hosted a car wash for us on July 23. This event was very successful for our campaign. We had an amazing turnout and received great donations. We also had help from scholars passing our water and hot dogs as well. With a mishap at the IHOP event we have rescheduled it along with these following events coming up:
- August 1st: IHOP 933 N Central Expwy, Plano from 5pm – 9pm
-July 30th: Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, 561 W. Campbell Road in Richardson 10am-8pm
-July 31st: Free Play Arcade Night on 1730 East Belt Line Road in Richardson. The entry fee will be $10 for unlimited arcade games.
When attending our events please mention our campaign so that a portion of your sales will go to our account. Bring your friends and family!

One week in and we have received 11% of our goal. However, it is actually closer to 22% with the donations from our last three events that have not yet been submitted (this should be reflected within the next couple days)! So…

We had a pretty good turn out on a couple of our restaurant events, and a great turn-out at the bingo event that we had last weekend. As stated earlier, these contributions should be added shortly. Regretfully, we were not as vigilante in getting the word out on the first several restaurant events, so we are going to try even harder with these next ones.
We will be hosted by Legends Express Car Wash on Saturday, July 23rd, at 628 Coit Rd in Plano. It should be a great event, with hot dogs and drinks being served while you get your car washed. The business has agreed to donate 20% of all sales of anyone that uses the code 2010 when going through. It is very important that you remember to use this code so that it goes towards the campaign. We will also have students onsite taking any cash donations from customers.
Then, on Monday night the IHOP at 933 N. Central Expressway in Plano will be hosting us. They will also be donating a percentage of the sales of every table that mentions they are there to support the UTD Cambridge campaign (or C2C2C). So, come have dinner and bring the family! Just remember to mention the campaign.
With such a great start we still need help in getting the word out to more people about this great cause. We are so thankful for the donations to date, and with your continued support, we may be able to reach even more people. As the source of all that makes up a comet, the nucleus becomes what all the world sees as you propel it through space. Your generous donation will fund a full trip to the conference for one student. With this gift, you are invited to a lunch with the thankful recipients and the dean of the Jindal School after the conference.
